The purpose hereof is to set forth the terms and conditions governing the use (hereinafter referred to as "Terms of Use") of www.actionaid.gr, designed by "ActionAid Hellas" -a non-profit civil company, having its registered office in Athens, at No 204, Mesogeion Avenue, 1st floor, 15561, Cholargos, Athens (hereinafter referred to as "the Organisation") whose main objective is to fight poverty and injustice in the developing world- in order to communicate with its supporters, but also with ordinary visitors of its website, who wish to be informed about the work and activities of the Organisation.
These Terms of Use apply to all websites hosted on the aforementioned website of the Organisation (hereinafter referred to as "Website"). The Website Terms of Use do not apply to websites hosted by other organisations with a different website or by other national offices of ActionAid with which the Website may be linked. Users of these websites must necessarily be informed of the privacy policy of the individual websites they visit.
Visitors/users of the Website (hereinafter referred to as "Users") must read these Terms of Use carefully before they proceed to any use of the Website.
The use of the Website constitutes evidence that the user has studied, understood and accepted all terms and conditions thereof. If the user does not agree with the Terms of Use of the Website, he/she must refrain from using its services.

For the execution of any child sponsorship agreement, donation or order of purchase from the Organisation's online store, users’ personal data must be collected and the corresponding legal documents must be issued.
Any document that certifies and states the user’s identity remains strictly confidential and can only be checked by the competent department of the Organisation. The submission of personal data by the user automatically implies the consent thereof to the use of such data, for the above-mentioned purposes.

The Organisation is committed to ensuring, to the extent possible, the security, privacy and integrity of the data it collects regarding the users of its Website. In particular, the Organisation has adopted procedures that protect personal data. These procedures protect users' data from any unauthorized access or disclosure, loss or misuse, and alteration or destruction. They also help to certify that this data is accurate and used correctly.
In particular, the Organisation has implemented appropriate technical measures to safeguard users' personal data against loss or any form of unlawful processing. On the sponsorship and financial support website, users' data of support via credit card or bank account number are secured using the Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) electronic security protocol. SSL uses methods for secure data exchange between users and the Organisation, establishing a secure connection between them over the Internet and preventing malicious actions.
While the user is on the secure page in order to offer support to the Organisation, the browser informs the said user that he/she is on a secured website with visible signs, such as the symbol of the company, which provides the Organisation with the SSL certificate and guarantees the secure exchange of data and the identity of the Organisation's website.
The use of the Website constitutes a presumption of automatic and explicit acceptance of this statement on the protection of personal data, as well as of the aforementioned Terms of Use of the Website.
